Welcome to DH Northwest!

Who are we and what do we do?

We are a landing site for anyone interested in the humanities and social sciences who wants to network his/her ideas to a wider audience. We are aimed specifically at undergraduates in the Midwest but are open to the exchange of ideas from all parts of the globe.

Our goal is to show that the academic world is changing rapidly as it makes greater use of the technologies available for the dissemination of ideas. Ultimately, DH Northwest reflects the transition of the academic world of humanities and social sciences from a print-dominated world to a world which embraces all forms of media.

The site provides the faculty in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Northwest Missouri State University the opportunity to interact in a flexible environment with potential students as well as current and former students.

The DH Northwest site is also an access point to Scholastica, a biennial undergraduate journal which allows students in the humanities and social sciences to hone their craft while being given the opportunity to share their research and ideas to a much wider audience. The journal accepts papers for publication January through March and July through September.  Further information on Scholastica can be found on the journal’s homepage at http://Scholastica.DhNorthwest.org.
